A global environment in which technology gives us the facilities to have contact around the world and at any time, it is essential for us to set our sights on places where people are united by a common purpose, objectives and values.

Working collaboratively to achieve a shared vision that has a powerful and positive impact on the overall business is absolutely vital to your success and is not impossible.

True collaboration can occur in cross-cultural and virtual environments thanks to technology.

As a leader you must push to build collaborative environments, shaping practices and creating opportunities to bring people together, whether for the benefit of your organization, company or staff.

Your global vision should seek out and provide resources in all areas to remove obstacles that work across boundaries and borders. Put yourself in a global puzzle and you will see how a pattern emerges for you to place yourself in professional and business places of your interest.

  1. Create Networks and Connections

Promote open communication, sharing of ideas, resources, strategies, etc. It’s not an easy thing to do, but you have to start.

  1. Get to know your business and give it the widest and farthest landscape possible.

Someone somewhere on the planet thinks like you or needs your talent and ideas.

Stay on top of what’s going on in your business, it’s something you control without a problem. However, also monitoring world events and ideas outside your area of expertise will give you another view in order to see the trends, possibilities and potential of global innovation and extra-border business.

  1. Your great photography

Consider the bigger picture of where you should and want to be, along with the long-term implications of your overall goals and objectives. Ask for input from diverse points of view and you will see that you are not, nor are we the only ones with that goal.

  1. Leverage your talent

Recognize the cross-functional, cross-cultural experience available to you. Realize that you have a “world” available to tap into.

  1. Respect generates respect

Earn respect within a global environment, trust through the integrity of your character and your work ethic. You must be willing to take a stand to make important and difficult decisions.

The more you connect and collaborate with people in other countries, with common business and professional interests, the more you will feel comfortable in an environment where people think like you in another language.

  1. Creates a reliable infrastructure

Demand an open flow of information and communication between professional and business relationships in other countries. Participate in virtual conversations and information exchange, there are no limits or borders.

  1. Values diversity.

Leverage cultural differences and use diversity as a strategic advantage. Facilitate your innovation through global relationships. Bring people with diverse perspectives and unique insights into your life.

Collaborative leadership in a global context is based on respect and trust.

Create opportunities for people to think together, this will help to understand that collaboration and global relationships are not magic, it is a mindset and a skill set, both of which you must leverage to make a big difference to the bottom line.

Global collaboration is not an option, it is an imperative part of the strategy.
